BucketHub

Multi-cloud backup hub

A macOS-native app that monitors cloud object storage buckets on one screen and safely auto-backs them up locally. It unifies AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, and Google Cloud Storage into a single workflow with schedule-based incremental backups and status monitoring.

/02PROBLEM

The problems BucketHub
solves

This product was built to solve the recurring operational and development challenges found in real environments like the ones below.

CONTEXT

A macOS-native app that monitors cloud object storage buckets on one screen and safely auto-backs them up locally. It unifies AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, and Google Cloud Storage into a single workflow with schedule-based incremental backups and status monitoring. Existing solutions were either not operator-friendly or built in a way that piled up maintenance costs. UNISYS redesigned this into a product that's owned all the way through operations.

/03FEATURES

Key Features

The core features BucketHub provides. Every feature is delivered in an operable form.

F-01

Operations dashboard

Monitor backup status, capacity, object count, and progress for all buckets on one screen. In-progress tasks and errors are shown in real time, and you can track history via a recent activity log.

F-02

Multi-cloud support

Register and manage AWS S3, Cloudflare R2 (S3-compatible), and Google Cloud Storage the same way. Provider-specific regions and URI schemes (s3:// · r2:// · gs://) are provided out of the box.

F-03

Automatic backup schedules

Assign manual, hourly, daily, or weekly policies per bucket. A timezone-aware scheduler computes the next run time and triggers backups automatically.

F-04

Incremental backup engine

A hash cache and file mirroring download only changed objects to reduce time and transfer volume. Glob filters (* · ** · ?) let you selectively back up specific key patterns.

F-05

Secure credential management

Access keys and service-account JSON are stored in the macOS Keychain and never sent to external servers. App Sandbox and security-scoped bookmarks restrict access to only the folders you specify.

F-06

Localization

Korean, Japanese, and English supported out of the box, switching automatically to match the system language.

/05FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we hear most often when evaluating adoption.

AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, and Google Cloud Storage. R2 connects via its S3-compatible interface, and you can choose provider-specific regions.
Backup data is stored in a local folder you specify. Secrets such as access keys and service accounts are kept in the macOS Keychain, and folder access is managed via security-scoped bookmarks.
You can assign manual, hourly, daily, or weekly policies per bucket. Each run is incremental, downloading only changed objects.
Yes. You can filter object keys with glob patterns (*, **, ?, and comma-separated multiple patterns) to selectively back up only the paths you want.
